Things to remember

Before The Bikeathon: Make sure that your bike has been overhauled and that you have all the correct safety equipment.

On The Day: Make your way to the starting area at the Town Hall Square. Do not arrive at the start earlier than 30 minutes before your start time.

Please make sure you wear your T-Shirt, Rider Number and Helmet (not compulsory). The first two help us spot you if your bike is in trouble, and the helmet will protect you if you have a spill.

Please bring your control card with you; it allows you to participate in the event and will be punched by marshals at the start, at the checkpoint and at the finish to certify how many miles you have covered.

In order not to choke the route with enthusiastic riders, cyclists will be sent off in groups, the size of which and the intervals for which have been agreed by the police.

It is important to observe the HIGHWAY CODE at all times, and make sure that your Family Group rides together at all times.

When you reach the Finish line your Control card will be stamped and you will be presented with a medal to recognise that you have completed the course.

The sponsors of the event, who are a charity, have agreed with organisers, The Macclesfield Bikeathon, that all organisational costs of whatever nature shall be deducted from the sponsorship income and paid to the organisers. If you require a copy of the agreement between the charity and the organisers, please write to Mr Ellis and Mr Broster c/o 51 Sunderland St Macclesfield SK10 6HN
